OLD & NEW/MIX & MATCH at STYLE STARTS HERE

As I wandered through Style Starts Here the other day, I found these new items by Simone Stern that grabbed my attention. Tops with a strap over one shoulder and a cute, large heart on the front met my gaze.

On another wall I found cute mini-skirts/shorts that had a tiny heart as the button closure on the front and a heart on both hips on the back.

I couldn’t help but buy a few tops with skirts to match–okay, you don’t have to match up the colors, but I like to match.

Then I realized that these simple pieces would be great mixed and matched with other items from my rather extensive collection of Simone’s clothing. I started with strapped boots that matched the outfits–sorry, I really can’t help myself sometimes. Then I added a pair of jeans or a skirt to go with the heart top and then a top that would go with the skirt or shorts.

I think I came up with some great looks, and I know that if I would let go of the matching look, I could come up with literally thousands of outfits just from what I’ve got in my inventory. Now if I could just remember to make folders for outfits before I took them off, I could sure get dressed faster.

SIMONE! SERENITY BRIDAL GOWN FOUR SKIRT SET

Simone Stern has come out with some new choices for brides, and I’m reminded that one of the most popular days of the year for marrying–Valentine’s Day–is just around the corner. The color could be described as champagne–perfect for a wedding celebration. The strapless bodice and upper skirt have lovely lace textures. The same lacy texture is in the veil and the overlay of one of the skirts. The gown comes with four skirt choices–I’ve made no secret of the fact that I love options in clothing, and that includes options in the style of skirt. For the ceremony itself, I might wear the Serenity Belle Skirt with Train or the Serenity Belle Skirt with Train and Overlay then switch to the Serenity Slender Skirt with Train or the Serenity Belle Skirt Solid either of which would be great for dancing. I really like option of changing to something that is less likely to “whack” someone else while I’m dancing–okay, the skirt may just go through another avatar and not knock him off his feet, but I hate being swamped by a huge skirt. None of these skirts has such a long train that they will overwhelm my fellow dancers, but if the setting is crowded, a switch to a smaller skirt would be nice to have. The other thing about this gown is that if the veil is removed, the gown could be worn for any event with or without the opera-length gloves also have a lovely lace accent.  Simone really has a wonderful way with textures and little details.

SIMONE DESIGN GROUP BENEFIT

If you aren’t a member of the Simone Design Group, you don’t know it, but every time Simone’s designs are blogged, she sends out a group gift. Sometimes the gift is a blouse or a pair of pants or maybe a sweater, but her latest group gift is a copy of a yet-to-be-released gown, Firena. The gift is in response to the blog entry from yesterday A Simone! Moment.

Below is what Simone Stern stuffed into the box: bodice on three layers, glitch pants on both layers, stockings, system skirt, belle skirt with train, split skirt, princess skirt, slender skirt with fan train, and short skirt. The color is such a beautiful, deep blue that is perfect with the silver accents at the waist and shoulder. There is a skirt for any occasion–maybe you should consider joining and digging around in past notices. Then be sure to stay in to await the next gift and notices for sales and other events.

Oh, by the way, I don’t know what colors Simone will bring out in this gown, but you can be sure it will be several. So if you aren’t a fan of this beautiful blue, watch for more–they just won’t be free.

A SIMONE! MOMENT

Simone Stern is one of those designers with a gift for textures. Her new gown, Moment, demonstrates this talent beautifully. Just take a look at the details along the top of the bodice, down the front, across the back, and at the top of the gloves. In addition, there is lots of shading that adds depth; the darker shading at the bottom of the skirt is subtle but especially effective. The translucence of the skirts results in a nice visual effect anytime they are moved. Simone also adds lots of choices in skirts all in the same package. You get the belle skirt that has a train, the princess skirt, the slender fan skirt with train, the slit skirt, and the system skirt. That’s a lot of choices and lets you change skirts depending on the occasion. Furthermore, Simone provides you with not one or two but nine different options in color! Every color of gown comes with every skirt option, but I’m just showing you samples. Finally, she provides items on as many layers as possible, and that allows you to add a fur stole or whatever you like. You will find the gown along the back wall at Style Starts Here, but making a decision about which color to buy is going to be really tough–well, may not too tough if you’re on a budget, start with the gold which is only 400L for a limited time. The rest of the colors are 800L but worth more!

SIMONE’S THREE NEWEST GOWNS ON SALE UNTIL MONDAY

Simone Stern of Style Starts Here had a great show on Saturday at Eclectic Visions Modeling Agency. The models shared the 12 Days of Christmas in new blouses, slacks, gowns, a cute Christmasy dress and a sexy Santa. I wore the Joie DeVivre gold gown Saturday night dancing with my sweetie. DJ Jezzika Debevec was wearing the Pretty Baby gown in white; she looked like a delicate ballerina–beautiful.

The three gowns have been put on sale until Monday, so run over and grab yours before Sunday is over.

Essence

The Essence gown has at least two tops and three skirts with the beautiful floral pattern in both the top and skirt and a solid red top and skirt. Both gowns have matching gloves. In addition, there is a short skirt with stockings. Simone has provides layer options so the wearer has lots of options–include colors to choose from.

Pretty Baby

The Pretty Baby gown is alight in stars over a delicate skirt. The whole outfit gives a filmy, delicate appearance that really would be perfect for a ballet. This gown, like the others comes in several color choices. I promise you will have trouble making up your mind.

Joie DeVivre

I first had the pleasure of seeing this gown while Simone was working on it. I was stunned. The gold is beautiful, and the lining and underskirt are in a striking red. I caught this dress in a turn so you could get a feel for how it looks on the dance floor. Again, you’ll have trouble settling on a color. At these prices, you might be able to pick up two or more.

SHOWING OFF IN HEELS ON WHEELS

I make no apologies for wearing a helmet and knee and elbow pads with skates in SL. I know I can’t be hurt in a fall, but I try to set an example for anyone who might be watching in real life. Having said that, please fasten the straps on your helmets in real life, otherwise it’s pointless to wear the helment. In real life, protect that noggin–it can literally be a matter of life and death.

Finding a helmet that fastened in SL proved to be a challenge, so I had to settle, but I’m not happy about it. On the other hand, I am elated with the Heels on Wheels designed by Enktan Gully of enkythings. A friend had gotten a pair last year when Enktan had them on sale for a time to help raise money for Wheelies. I had seen her in them and had scoured enkythings to no avail. Then a few weeks ago I saw them in a blog and knew I had to have a least one pair.

To fit the elegance and variety of the heels, I’ve selected different outfits to wear with the skates that come with their own built-in skating animation. I’m only showing you 5 of the 16 colors–I love these things!

Clubbing Anyone?

I know most of you wouldn’t wear a gorgeous cocktail dress of gold sequins to skate in, but isn’t it fun? What will they say when you gracefully skate into the next party or dance club wearing your Heels on Wheels?

Heels on Wheels: enkythings–Carved Sepia (250L)

Outfit: Simone–Sequined Club Dress (Gold) (275L)

Skating Ahead of the Pack

Does this look a little more like what you might expect–a sexy blond bomber on equally sexy silver skates? These shiny silver skates is where the line of skates began, and they’ll always be my favorites.

Heels on Wheels: enkythings–Original Silver (250L)

Outfit: Style Starts Here–Red Hot Vinyl Set (295L)

Olive and Copper Elegance

Cooler weather doesn’t mean I can’t skate. Just don one of the new suede jackets from Simone Stern and a pair of soft, sexy snakeskin pants and I’m ready for a skate in a brisk fall breeze.

Heels on Wheels: enkythings–Metal Olive (250L)

Jacket: Styles Starts Here–Suede Coat (Green) (285L)

Pants: Style Starts Here–Snakeskin Pants with Sculpted Legs (Copper) (160L)

Brown and Cream Sass

I’m not going to wear a long gown in this entry because you couldn’t see the skates, so I picked these sassy little pieces up–I love them together. Simone has been celebrating her 5th birthday in SL for two weeks and the buys have been amazing!

Heels on Wheels: enkythings–Wicker Brown (250L)

Blouse: Style Starts Here–Collared Halter (Beige) (125L)

Shorts: Style Starts Here–Cotton Shorts (Brown) (115L)

Furry Fun

I couldn’t resist wearing this jacket again. It screamed to be taken out of my inventory and on a short skate through the park. I could go on and on, but you get the idea–you don’t have to save high heels for dresses–especially when they are as cute as these Heels on Wheels.

Heels on Wheels: enkythings–Wood Red (250L)

Jacket: Style Starts Here–Fur Jacket (Sable) (300L)

Blouse: Style Starts Here–Glitter Trim Top (Champagne) (125L)

Pants: Style Starts Here–Canvas Jeans (Beige) (160L)

Up Close and Personal

One last shot to show you the great detail of these shoes–this one in Carved Sepia. Be the first one in your crowd to own a pair. Shoot at this price (250L), you can own several.

Last Thoughts

Yes, I know these pictures would have looked sexier without the helmet and knee and elbow protectors, but then I would have missed an opportunity to tell you just how important it is to wear protection in real life against accidents when engaged in sports. Even those real life sports you don’t even think of as sports–roller skating, ice skating, roller blading, skateboarding, bicycling, and riding a motorcycle. (All right maybe that last one’s not a sport, but it’s probably the most dangerous of all.) Please remember, for the want of helmets a lot of traumatic brain injuries have occurred and a lot of real lives have been lost. Don’t let yours be one of them.

CUPCAKES SEDUCTION V.2

Filed under: SL Fashion — xenspen @ 5:27 pm
Tags: , , , , ,

I have purchased many skins and have tried on dozens and dozens more, but when I tried on my first Seduction skin from CUPCAKES, I was hooked. And to think that it all started with a freebie skin from an Easter hunt. Not satisfied with that one makeup, I began buying them up one-by-one in the copper skin tone. I kept all of the demos in my inventory and would only delete one when I had purchased the standard version. I bought more and more and just couldn’t seem to get enough. When they decided to open their own region and put skins on sale, I went wild. I bought all four fatpacks in my favorite skin tone. I still wasn’t satisfied. Every time a special pack was put on sale, I bought those too. I found myself haunting the store looking for more makeups. I tried on the demos of the other lines, but none of them were “me.” I am Seduction.

Then she did it. She begin revising “my” skin. As soon as I received the group notice, of the first release, I couldn’t get over there fast enough. Princess–one of my favorite makeups was on sale for just 50L! I rushed home, stripped, and put on the new skin. Stripping might not seem so important to some, but I had never been satisfied with the backside–specifically the shading on the buttocks. I can show you much better than I can tell you. In the pictures below I’m wearing the Dark Love makeup with the new version on the left and the older version on the right.

First, the face. The differences here are very subtle. I think they are most noticeable in the eyebrows.

Second, a front view. The changes are more noticeable. The color is a bit different and the shading more subtle, more natural.

Third, a side view. The skin tone is much more even.

Finally, the view you’ve all been waiting for. Here is the most obvious change–no more white butt. YAY!

In case you’re wondering, yes, I have purchased the only fatpack that is currently out and all of the limited editions. I’ll keep buying them because, like I said, the CUPCAKES Seduction skin line in copper is me!
