Simone’s fifth birthday celebration continued on Wednesday with green items on sale for a special price. I was looking for items that were different than the ones I had purchased Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday. I wanted to be sure to give you a feel for the wide variety of styles Simone carries. SIMONE STERN IS FIVE–PART PINK

Simone’s birthday celebration continued on Tuesday when pink items were on special. I love pink, so it was hard to make decisions. I started with the Pink O Ring Swimsuit. Then I got this Casual Scarf Dress in Papaya–pink, but a difficult shade of pink. With that dress I wore some of my old favorite shoes by Basevi Moda. Finally, I really like slacks, so I got the Canvas Jeans in Neon Pink and Someone’s Favorite Scarf Top in Pink that I paired with the Silver Better Thank Sex Boots that I had purchased earlier. It would be really easy to just get some of my favorite pieces in different colors each day, so I’ve made a concerted effort to find different items to share with you. It hasn’t been difficult because there are so many different styles–and I haven’t hit the gowns yet!

SIMONE STERN IS FIVE–PART SILVER AND GOLD

Simone Stern’s birthday party continued on Monday when the specials were silver and gold. It was harder on Monday–I realized I was going to have to stretch my Lindens through to the end of the week! Who knew what great items were yet to be purchased. I bought her Sexy Leather Pants and the Sequin Band Top in Silver (each for only 75L) and paired those with those great Better Than Sex Boots also in Silver! Then I did it again in Gold (except for the boots that weren’t available in Gold but were available in Mocha that looked Gold to me).

I can’t believe it–the gold-clad me got into an argument with the silver-clad me about who looked sexier. I think both I’s look great! What do you think?

IT’S A MOMENT OF MOVEMENT

Moment–at first I mistook the name of this gown for Movement and I thought, “Wow, what a perfectly descriptive name!” This dress moves like nothing I’ve ever worn before. From the flexie ruffles around the top of the gown to the front waistline bow to the last piece of train, this dress moves. While I’ve tried to give you a feel for the movement through pictures, only a video–which I’m not competent to do yet–would do this dress justice–you have to see it or wear it to truly appreciate it. I found myself caught up in the Moment watching the graceful skirt sway with every move. In fact, I kept doing poses long after I’d finished taking photos because I so enjoyed the movement. That’s what you’ll be too–caught up in the Moment watching this gown move. While this one is black with a white border print, it also comes in white with white border and black bow.

KEEPING WARM WITH SIMONE

In RL I don’t wear fur although I surround myself with felines and appreciate the softness of the fur coats that keep us warm. (Yes, “us.” If you have never awakened from a sound sleep drenched in sweat because you are piled with or surrounded by cats, you probably don’t truly appreciate the degree to which they are willing to share their warmth.) In SL I don’t need to wear fur or sweaters or even clothing for the mere purpose of staying warm, however, I do wear clothing because that’s the way I feel most comfortable. It is a convenient social convention for most of us and allows us to living in the “PG” areas of SL.

The clothing I choose to wear in SL has only one thing in common–I like it. I like that I can wear a gown appropriate for a ball given 300 years ago one moment and in the next wear something appropriate for the beach while I wade in the surf. I like that I can wear something appropriate as I ski down the side of a mountain one moment and in the next walk down the runway in an item that is trendy in both SL and RL at the same time.

A trendy item is what I want to wear now. It’s something that can be seen in several variations by several designers in SL–the short fur jacket–or the short faux fur jacket since no animals were harmed in its development. No one has done this jacket better than Simone Stern of Style Starts Here. Just look at these yummy colors and that long, luxurious faux fur–I want to run my hand down my arm and feel the softness.

MY PRECIOUS LAETITIA

Agnes Finney of My Precious sent me a copy of the Laetitia X Gold gown while she had it in development. I knew instantly that it would be a hit! I love the plunging neckline and the delicate cutouts on the bodice. (I haven’t shown it to my significant other yet, but I think he’ll find it to be quite intriguing.) The skirt has a border print similar to those Ms. Finney uses on many of her gowns and that I love. I really like the gorgeous lace inset at the sides of the gown, although there is a skirt version without the ruffle for those who would like lots of leg showing. The ruffle around the waistline finishes it beautifully. I only added shoes from Basevi Moda and earrings from Alienbear Designs to complete the ensemble as more would have detracted from this beautiful gown. I liked the gold so much that I bought in in blue, but it was a difficult decision to settle on just one more color. Besides gold and blue, the gown also comes in red, pink and silver white. RETRO STRIKES AGAIN AT STYLE STARTS HERE

I didn’t realize I was so fond of retro styles until Simone Stern’s recent clothes from Style Starts Here struck a nostalgic chord with me. I was never a hippie, I was a wanna be. Here in SL, Simone has made it possible for me to dress like the person I wanted to be then. Inside I still feel like the girl who wanted that free lifestyle although it’s been more than a few years. Thanks for taking me back, Simone.

I started with Simone’s Hippy Jeans in pink and added her Hippy Scarf Top in pink to match. (Yes, I like to match things and there are several different colors to match up, but if you aren’t into matching, you can mix too!) I added sandals, a peace necklace and earrings from EarthStones, and that great hair from Maitreya I used in an earlier post on a tie-dyed outfit also by Simone.

AGNES MEETS SIMONE

I found this great group gift (Kelly Top) from Agnes Finney at My Precious but wondered what I was going to do with the great beribboned top. I didn’t own any skirt or pants that would match the black-beaded bandeau beneath the cerulean bodice. However, after scanning my inventory for a few minutes, I found these great black Vinyl “Hawt” Pants by Simone Stern at Style Starts Here.
